Jake Brennan

Jake Brennan
Martial Arts Instructor & MMA Team Coach

Jake Brennan is younger brother of Chris “The Westside Strangler” Brennan, founder of Next Generation MMA. Jake grew up playing many sports such as baseball, soccer, basketball but it wasn’t until 1997 when his older brother Chris came back from Brazil and introduced him to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu which quickly became one of Jake’s passions. Jake spent the next year training out of Chris’s garage, which he claims was the best training year of his jiu-jitsu career because he was Chris’s personal “dummy” and that is the best way to learn.

Jake spent his high-school years juggling baseball, training in mixed martial arts and teaching the kid’s Jiu-Jitsu program at Next Generation MMA. It wasn’t until 2003 until he became a full-time Jiu-Jitsu instructor at Next Generation MMA. Jake has been teaching and training MMA athletes for the past 7 years now.

Fighting through many injuries of his own Jake never managed to make his MMA debut but never let that get in the way of him teaching as he felt he would be letting his students down. Jake looks to make his over-due MMA debut later this year. Currently Jake is a Brown Belt under his brother Chris and is teaching alongside his brother Zack at all Orange County Next Generation MMA locations.
