Next Generation's BJJ program is founded on the teachings of IBJJF Certified, BJJ Black Belt, Pride FC, UFC and ADCC Veteran, and Next Generation Founder, Chris Brennan. Chris was leading pioneer in gi-less Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and he coined the phrase "No-gi Jiu-Jitsu" and later founded the action sports apparel company Nogi Industries.

Our BJJ program consists of gi & no-gi instruction but we pride ourselves on our unique success and expertise in no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaching & competition performance. We consider our method to be true no-gi BJJ and not submission grappling or catch wrestling because we strictly adhere to the fundamental philosophies that make gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu such an effective art form. Simply because our no-gi classes and techniques are taught without the gi does not mean we abandon our core concepts and beliefs of focusing on fundamentals and speed while emphasizing the importance of position before submission!

The difference between Gi BJJ and Nogi BJJ is in the grips. In the stand-up game, the grips provided by the BJJ uniform allow for many judo-style throwing and submission techniques, while Nogi Jiu-Jitsu takedowns resemble those of traditional wrestling. Grips also come into play on the ground. Where the Gi Jiu-Jitsu ground game is methodical and technical, Nogi Jiu-Jitsu moves tend to be more fluid and fast-paced.

Required Equipment: Next Generation gi and/or a no-gi Jiu-Jitsu ranked uniform.  Groin protection and a mouthpiece are recommended but optional.
