Nogi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the foundation of the Next Generation's martial arts program. Our instructors come from a strong lineage of BJJ instructors and pioneers. Each instructor is officially ranked under world class BJJ Black Belt, Pride FC, UFC and ADCC Veteran, and Next Generation Founder, Chris Brennan. We look forward to teaching you the dynamic art of Jiu-Jitsu.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position and using joint-locks and choke holds to force an opponent to submit.
Thanks to the early dominance of its practitioners in mixed martial arts events, Jiu-Jitsu has become one of the
most popular and PROVEN forms of martial arts in the World.
BJJ promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person using leverage and proper technique can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger assailant. Sparring (referred to as 'rolling') and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition. Each class you will receive specific instruction on fundamental and advanced submission techniques with each class ending where you have the opportunity to "roll" with other students allowing you to practice and
hopefully apply techniques you have learned.
Required Equipment: T-Shirt, Board Shorts, groin protection and a mouthpiece.
